Founded in 2004, Sam Edelman’s eponymous shoe label captures timeless American style in laid-back luxury designs.
Sam Edelman established himself as one of the footwear world’s foremost shoe designers in the 1980s with his work at Esprit. He would go on to launch Sam & Libby with his wife in 1987, and their ballet flats transformed contemporary footwear by merging contemporary European trends with a deep understanding of American aesthetics. After an early retirement at the age of 44, Edelman eventually gravitated back to his love of shoes in 2004 with the inception of his eponymous brand, Sam Edelman shoes. The king and queen of the footwear world were then reunited in 2012 when Libby joined Sam as part of the company's designer team.
Since then, the Sam Edelman shoe label has become one of the best-loved footwear companies in contemporary America, opening up buzzing flagship stores in prime locations in New York City’s Soho shopping district and on LA’s North Beverly Drive. As its women’s footwear collection expands from shoes to ankle boots and sandals, Sam Edelman shoes are welcomed to great acclaim around the world and Sam Edelman was recently named brand of the year by Footwear News.
