About Vivienne Westwood
Vivienne Westwood is well known for her iconic and unique fashion statements worldwide. She started by creating and designing her own pieces of jewellery, that she would sell on a stall at Portobello Road. She began making Teddy Boy clothes for McLaren and in 1971 she opened Let it Rock at 430 Kings Road. Westwood created and took inspiration for some of her designs from bikers, leather and zips, specifically the punk fashion phenomenon in the 1970’s. From this the shop was re-branded with skull and crossbones and was renamed Too Fast to Live, Too Young to Die.
Vivienne created many lines but developed a style for shock tactics and pushing the boundaries of acceptable and appropriate wear especially transforming fetish wear into fashion.
Vivienne Westwood is an iconic fashion designer and her edgy style to this day continues to grow, and pushes the boundaries of fashion to new levels. Levels that may not have been reached without her time, investments and love of all things fashion. She has won various awards over her fashion lifespan such as and OBE for British Designer of the Year.
Famous bands, supermodels such as Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and celebrities such as Sarah Jessica Parker, Olivia Wilde and Jennifer Aniston are known fans of Vivienne Westwood designs. Many of her creations are worn on a regular basis in the media spotlight.
When Vivienne Westwood married Derek Westwood she made her own wedding dress for the ceremony, this began her passion for designing bridal wear and she drew on her experience when creating the classic timeless piece for Carrie Bradshaw’s wedding in the award winning movie Sex and the City.
The Melissa range offers a unique material and shoe experience for all.

The way to a womans heart
I've known for a while that the gift of shoes is much more personal than say flowers or chocolates. It shows you pay attention to your lady and is much more personal. Knowing what my wife likes and having a recent anniversary, I settled on these shoes. When they arrived the first thing I noticed was the smell. These shoes smell delicious. I wrapped them and gave them to my long suffering wife whose face lit up when she opened the box. The shoes were ideal, and she has said that she considers them the comfiest she has ever worn and has received numerous comments about them from admirers whilst out. Well done to both Melissa and Vivienne Westwood for such a great shoe!
